Palo Verde Fiesta Sports Foundation Wishes for Teachers

Your Wish Granted!

Created in 2016, the Palo Verde Fiesta Sports Foundation Wishes for Teachers program grants classroom wishes to teachers across the state of Arizona. The Fiesta Sports Foundation saw that many teachers spent their own money to enhance their classroom experience and developed a program to aid teachers in that effort. To celebrate 10 years of the Wishes for Teachers program, we expanded our impact by granting three $50,000 school wishes in addition to our 540 teacher wishes, bringing our 2025-26 impact to a record $1.5 million.

In its 10 years, Wishes for Teachers has granted $9.7 million to more than 3,100 Arizona teachers, impacting more than one million students across the state.

TEACHER WISHES

As a way to support, celebrate and honor Arizona educators, K-12 public and charter school teachers are invited to fill out an online application detailing their $2,500 classroom wish. Wishes are selected by a random drawing to receive a $2,500 grant through DonorsChoose. All wish recipients become part of the Fiesta Sports Foundation family and can participate in community events throughout the year.

Teacher recipients are selected at random and notified during a Palo Verde Fiesta Sports Foundation Wishes for Teachers Draft Day presented by SRP that is held in November.

SCHOOL WISHES

This year, in expanding the Wishes for Teachers program, school principals of K-12 public and charter Title I schools are invited to fill out an online application detailing their $50,000 school wish. School wishes must be requested only by the school's principal or district superintendent.

Three school wishes will be granted and offer schools a $50,000 room or space renovation on a school campus (i.e. classroom, library, science lab, art room, wellness center) to support learning, creativity, student wellness or community engagement through physical space improvements.

School Wishes will be selected by Fiesta Sports Foundation and selected schools will be notified in September. A public announcement of the three selected schools will be part of the Palo Verde Fiesta Sports Foundation Wishes for Teachers Draft Day presented by SRP in November.

Palo Verde Generating Station, title partner of Fiesta Sports Foundation Wishes for Teachers, is a nuclear energy facility located about 50 miles west of downtown Phoenix. The site has seven owners in four states: Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and California. It is operated by Arizona Public Service.
