Brian Bednar was elected to the Fiesta Sports Foundation Board of Directors in 2020, after he began volunteering with the Fiesta Sports Foundation in 1996. Bednar was a high-performing member of the Fiesta Sports Foundation Yellow Jacket Committee since 2000.
Over the years, the Kansas State grad has been involved with nearly every facet of the organization and served as chair for numerous events, including the Fiesta Bowl Parade (twice), Fiesta Bowl game operations, Aerospace Challenge, Band Championship, Block Party, Duck Race and others. One of the top fundraisers on the Yellow Jacket Committee, Bednar was also a two-time Sales Coach of the Year, was Chair of the Year in 2012 and earned the Frank Snell Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016-17.
Bednar served as Senior Account Manager for Salt River Project, he has helped manage SRP's relationship with the Fiesta Sports Foundation and earned the SRP President's Volunteer Spirit Award for Community Service and the Karl F. Abel Volunteer Recognition Award.
He is a graduate of Scottsdale Leadership, Class 20, having served as Board President, and continues to serve on the Advisory Council. He received the prestigious “Hodges Alumni Achievement Award” in 2024.
