Fiesta Bowl Charities Continues to Serve Arizona Communities Through Charitable Giving and Legacy Projects

Charitable Giving Totals Now at $25 Million Over Last Eight Years and $30 Million Over Last 13 Years

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (August 17, 2023) – Enhancing its reputation as a college football leader in community impact, Fiesta Bowl Charities announced its 2023-24 charitable giving that includes donations to 20 Arizona nonprofit organizations, the state of Arizona's preeminent teacher support program in Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers and legacy projects such as community playground builds, resource rooms and teachers' lounge renovations.

Including the 2023-24 season, Fiesta Bowl Charities' giving total rises to approximately $25 million over the last eight years and $30 million over the last 13 years. For a full list of the 2023-24 Fiesta Bowl Charities grant recipients, please click here.

"Charitable giving has been at the core of the Fiesta Bowl Organization since our inception in 1971 and guides us in our daily activities as we seek to positively impact the lives of Arizonans across the state," said Fiesta Bowl Executive Director & CEO Erik Moses. "There is nothing more satisfying than to see the results of new programs, facilities and projects that we've helped to fund and to watch how those resources come to life for communities across the state."

Through the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, Guaranteed Rate Bowl, Vrbo Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Lerner & Rowe and a year-long schedule of community events, Fiesta Bowl Charities delivers impact to communities throughout the state of Arizona in the pillars of youth, sports and education.

"It is truly inspiring to witness the impact Fiesta Bowl Charities has on our community supporting youth, athletics and education." said Randal Norton, Fiesta Bowl Board Chair. "Our ability to grant millions of dollars annually back to our community helps support existing civic programs. Our donations also serve as a catalyst to develop new programs that will make a positive and meaningful impact for those who are underserved across the state of Arizona."

The Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program will open applications for the 2023-24 academic year on Tuesday, September 5. In the first seven years of the program, a cumulative grant total of $5.7 million was donated to 1,600 teachers with an impact of more than 700,000 students across Arizona.
