WISHES FOR TEACHERS RECIPIENTS

Created in 2016, the Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers, powered by DriveTime program grants classroom wishes to teachers across the state of Arizona. The Fiesta Bowl organization saw that many teachers spent their own money to enhance their classroom experience and developed a program to aid teachers in that effort. As a way to support, celebrate and honor Arizona educators, teachers are invited to fill out an online application detailing their school and classroom wish. Wishes are selected by a random drawing to receive a $5,000 grant. All wish recipients are invited to walk in the Desert Financial Fiesta Bowl Parade and be recognized on-field at the Cheez-It® Bowl. In its three years, Wishes for Teachers granted over $2.2 million to Arizona teachers, impacting over 100,000 children across the state.

The 2019-20 Wishes for Teachers application period is now closed.

Check back on October 29 for the Wishes for Teachers Draft Day live stream on fiestabowl.org when 200 teachers will be notified that their wish has been granted!

Do you know what it is like to move to a country where you do not speak their language but you risked the change because you were told that this is the place where dreams come true? I teach English language learning students from all over the world who are impoverished. My wish is to provide them with technology, Resources, and to experience things that they might have not otherwise ever seen. I would use some of the money to buy iPads for my students to use in the classroom. Purchase Leveled online resources for reading and writing to be used with the tablets, and take them on field trips to the Dolphinaris, Bearizona, and the Grand Canyon. My hope is have a great and positive impact for the short time that I have them.
