Biography

The Oklahoma State Cowboys scored touchdowns on their first five possessions to take a commanding 35-10 halftime lead en route to a never-in-doubt 49-33 victory over Indiana in front of 48,892 fans, the third-largest crowd in the Insight Bowl's history.

The quarterbacks from both teams stole the offensive spotlights. Cowboys' signal-caller Zac Robinson threw for 302 yards and three touchdown passes, and rushed for 70 yards and two more scores to earn offensive player of the game honors.

Indiana quarterback Kellen Lewis accounted for three touchdowns – two passing, one rushing – and added 204 yards passing and 93 yards on the ground to lead the Hoosiers attack. Lewis also equaled former Hoosier Antwaan Randle-El's IU career record of 42 touchdown passes in the game.

OSU running back Dantrell Savage also was a headliner with 109 yards rushing and one touchdown on 23 carries.

After Indiana opened the scoring with Austin Starr's 43-yard field goal with 4:19 remaining in the first quarter, OSU's offensive onslaught began with four unanswered touchdown drives of 67, 53, 54 and 57 yards, respectively.

The touchdowns, in order, were recorded on a 3-yard run by Savage, a 24-yard pass from Robinson to Dez Bryant, a 7-yard run by Robinson and a 14-yard pass from Robinson to Adarius Bowman.

The balanced Oklahoma State offense picked up 302 yards through the air and 211 on the ground.

Oklahoma State, making its fifth bowl in six years, completed its season 8-5. Indiana was making its first bowl appearance since the 1993 and dedicated its season to head coach Terry Hoeppner, who died from complications from a brain tumor in the summer before the season.
